NYLA Clinics
NYLA is excited to offer fall and winter clinics from September through March of 2027. Open to boys and girls, grades 1st through 8th. This is great for returning players to sharpen their skills and for new players to learn the game in a fun, stress free environment.

Boys and Girls from 1st to 8th grade.
When
Fall Clinic runs from September to November. Winter Clinic runs from November to March.
Where
Outside at Ouellet Park for Fall and indoors for Winter.
Practices
Once a week on Fridays for two hours.
Games
No games! Just time to learn the game and have fun.
Jerseys
No uniform required. Each registrant will receive a practice pinnie.
Frequently Asked Questions
1.What should my child wear? Comfortable athletic clothing suited for the weather, athletic socks, sneakers or cleats, and a water bottle.
2.Does my child need equipment? Gear is required but we have loaner gear available on a first come basis.
Boys' lacrosse allows body and stick contact, requiring full protective padding.
- Lacrosse Stick: Complete stick (head, pocket, and shaft) sized for youth players.
- Helmet: Lacrosse-specific helmet with a secure chin strap.
- Gloves: Protective lacrosse gloves that offer flexibility and wrist/finger protection.
- Shoulder Pads: Must meet the current NOCSAE ND200 safety standard for cardiac protection.
- Arm Pads: Elbow pads or full arm guards to protect against stick checks.
- Mouthguard: Highly visible color (not clear) and must attach to the helmet or be securely fitted.
- Athletic Cup: Required for all male players.
- Cleats: cleats (lacrosse, football, or soccer) for field traction.
Girls' lacrosse is non-contact, focusing on stick-to-stick checking, which requires minimal padding.
- Lacrosse Stick: Complete girls' stick.
- Eyewear/Goggles: Lacrosse-specific goggles or an approved integrated helmet/goggle system meeting ASTM standards.
- Mouthguard: Highly visible color (not clear) without a helmet tether.
- Cleats: cleats for field traction.
- Gloves: Optional, but thin protective gloves can be worn for warmth or close-contact hand protection.
3.Does my child need to attend every Friday night clinic session? No, come to one or as many sessions as you can.
4.My child has never played lacrosse before. Is this for new players? Yes, this clinic is great for new players to learn the sport! and also for returning players that want to sharpen their skills.
2026 Fall Clinic
Registration for NYLA's Fall Clinic is now open for registration! Open to boys and girls, grades 1st through 8th. This is great for returning players to sharpen their skills and for new players to learn the game in a fun, stress free environment.
Sessions will be held on Fridays starting September 4, 2026 to November 20, 2026 from 5:30pm to 7:30pm at Ouellet Park back mini fields.
